Michael has established himself as a frequent visitor into primary schools, presenting interactive drama workshops, based on the National Curriculum.
Each workshop lasts for approximately two hours, is tailored to the age group and to any particular angle or topic that needs to be explored.
Through their creativity and imagination, the children are encouraged and motivated to consider the thoughts, feelings and situations of historical people and to understand that everyone, long ago, was as real as we are now.
No time consuming parading in costumes - the students participate in everyday clothes. Through improvisation, mime, movement and voice, children easily realise that their interpretation of events is valid and of worth.
As confidence and self esteem develop, a relaxed, fun session is achieved, resulting in plenty of valuable ideas that can be taken back into the classroom.
Some succesful workshops:
Daily Life in Ancient Greece The Tudors
The Greek Legacy The Great Fire of London
Ancient Egyptians Life in World War Two Britain
The Romans World War Two (including the Holocaust)
The Viking Raiders The Aztecs
The Victorians Living on an Island
Victorian Inventions Amazing Inventions.
The Anglo Saxons Stone Age, Ug, Stone Age Boy
